About

It started with one conversation.

In 2026, an acquaintance in the climate space put two strangers in touch: Lauren and Sydney. On their first call, Lauren asked Sydney if she wanted to co-host an SF Climate Week event together. Sydney said yes.

The rest is history. The event became a partnership, and shortly after, the partnership became Work in Progress Collective: a weekly gathering of women in climate that grew by word of mouth alone. No marketing, just women telling other women, you need to be in this room.

That told us everything. The support women in climate need isn't another job board or another massive Slack. It's a room small enough to know your name and consistent enough to count on.

Sydney and I were strangers on a phone call. By the end of it, we were co-hosting an event together. That's what happens when women in climate find each other, and it's exactly what we built WIP to make happen every week.
